Peter Knight

Peter is a Chartered Accountant who also runs a specialist accounting practice. He also coaches businesses and accounting firms and serves on several boards. Peter is a former President of CPA Australia (NSW) and has lectured and tutored at Macquarie University. For over 20 years Peter has been a sought-after presenter at conferences in Australia and overseas.

Peter’s career highlights include being a founding partner in an accounting practice which grew from scratch to become the 25th largest practice in Australia. He was also the leading sales person for an accounting software company and National Marketing Director for top 5 accounting firm PKF (now BDO).

Peter has a particular interest in:

  • Communication between business owners, accountants and bankers
  • Sales and marketing in small business
  • Cash flow management

Kate Groom B.Ec


Kate has worked with franchise businesses for almost 20 years in executive leadership and coaching roles. Her first franchise role was with Kwik Kopy Australia, where she was responsible for financial performance improvement, business planning and benchmarking. Later, Kate was general manager of Signwave,  which she ran for more than six years.

Kate’s career highlights include establishing an industry leading benchmarking and peer support program. She also led several major change programs in franchise operations and marketing, leading to significant sales growth.

Kate has a particular interest in:

  • Women’s financial literacy and family financial conversations
  • Profit improvement for franchises
  • Strategic and business planning
